What is the Umovement?

Umovement: a global grass roots movement to accelerate the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by developing/leveraging advanced social network technologies. We have developed innovative new technologies such as UKIs™ (Widgets with Wiki capability) and UKIPEDIA™ (Mega Matrix of goodness and compassion on the web) to empower individuals, NGOs, and governmental agencies, to generate awareness, find volunteers, and receive funding for their MDG related projects.

We're people from all the countries of the world – working together to make the United Nation's bold vision for a more just planet a reality.

We're not a UN agency. We’re not part of any government.

We’re here to accelerate the movement toward achievement of the millennium goals by bringing people together, by strengthening communities around the world, and by making it easier for good people and good causes to connect.

We are a 'movement' not a 'campaign'. A movement is the process in which we transition from one place to another; it symbolizes change. Every person on this planet is engaged in some form of movement. The only question that matters is in which direction are we moving?

One person’s single action can make a difference and move this planet in the direction of positive social change. We know that you can create a chain reaction of positive change in the people around you – just through your own action, example, storytelling and enthusiasm.
